TEAPOTS Highlighted at Thessaly at the Heart of Circular Economy
Our partner, the Centre for Research and Technology Hellas (CERTH), participated in the "Thessaly at the Heart of Circular Economy" event, held in Larissa, Greece, from April 9 to 11, 2025. This event brought together experts, researchers, and stakeholders dedicated to promoting circular economy practices across various sectors.
Vasileios Filippou represented CERTH and delivered two presentations focused on innovative approaches to renewable energy production and resource recovery:
On April 10, Filippou presented on the topic "Energy Production from Thermal Utilisation of Biomass." His talk explored ongoing research in thermal technologies for converting biomass into clean energy. He emphasised the role of biomass in regional energy systems and the importance of integrating such solutions into sustainable development strategies.
On the final day, April 11, he presented "Utilizing Residues for Energy Production," highlighting how TEAPOTS aims to transform agricultural residues into valuable energy resources. TEAPOTS supports circular economy goals by reducing waste, promoting energy self-sufficiency, and creating added value from underutilised biomass.
The event served as a pivotal platform for showcasing innovative strategies in sustainable energy and waste valorisation, highlighting the importance of collaborative efforts in advancing circular economy initiatives. CERTH’s participation reflects its strong commitment to supporting energy transition and innovation through research, collaboration, and practical solutions in the circular economy landscape.
